Why Cannafax
Is Your Cannabis Lead-Free?
You wouldn’t eat vegetables laced with lead. So why consume contaminated cannabis?
The cannabis industry is facing a silent crisis. In both the legal and illicit markets, contamination from heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents continues to put public health at risk.
In Washington State, over 500 cannabis products were recalled in March 2024, affecting 129 licensed retailers. The reason? Excessive pesticide residues and residual solvents. And in a separate case, products containing lead levels of 1.7 ppm—more than 10 times the state limit—were voluntarily pulled from the market.
This isn’t just a Washington issue.
In California, 2024 brought 63 official recalls and nearly 500 product embargoes due to contamination, including from chlorfenapyr, a Category I pesticide linked to high toxicity. Meanwhile, a multi-state study found 16% of seized illicit cannabis was contaminated with toxic Fusarium mycotoxins, a threat that doesn't stop at legalization.
Whether it’s in dispensaries or on the street, contaminated cannabis is more common than most people think.
That’s why Cannafax exists.
We provide independent, third-party quality verification to ensure cannabis is safe, clean, and trustworthy—so consumers can enjoy with confidence, and brands can stand behind their product.

Trust is the New High.
74% of cannabis consumers will choose a verified lead-free brand over one that isn’t.
Today’s cannabis consumer is more informed—and more concerned—than ever before.
According to BDS Analytics, 72% of cannabis consumers say they’re willing to pay more for lab-tested cannabis, and 74% would switch brands if they found out their product contained pesticides or lead. This isn’t a fringe group—it’s the new majority.
More than 65% of shoppers will pay a 15–20% premium for products certified clean of heavy metals and pesticides (Headset, 2021). And over 70% prefer products with scannable lab results that provide clear verification (Statista, 2022).
This shift mirrors what we’ve seen in the food industry, where Organic and Non-GMO awareness changed the way consumers buy. In fact, 85% of people say they prefer lead-free products across all categories, not just cannabis (EWG, 2019).
But here’s the catch: most cannabis packaging still doesn’t give consumers what they need to feel safe. QR codes often link to social media profiles or complicated lab reports that few can interpret. And even brands with nothing to hide don’t have a way to stand behind their product with clarity and confidence.
That’s where Cannafax comes in.
Cannafax Labels provide a clean, simple way to show consumers what they care about:
✅ Verified pesticide-free and heavy-metal-free
✅ A quality score based on color, trichomes, aroma, and structure
✅ A scannable QR code that connects to full lab data, cultivation details, and a direct connection with the grower
When consumers see the label, they get peace of mind.
When retailers and brands use it, they build trust—and see faster sell-through.

Our Story
We're not outsiders.
We're insiders who care.
Our mission is simple
To make it easy for cannabis lovers—new and experienced—to enjoy clean cannabis, confidently. And to give brands and retailers the tools to show they stand behind what they sell.
Because safety isn’t optional, it’s essential.
And trust? That’s what moves markets.
We didn’t start Cannafax to chase a trend.
We started it because we saw what was happening—products on shelves that shouldn’t be there, contaminated flower being sold as "premium," and consumers left in the dark with no simple way to know if what they were buying was safe.
We created Cannafax for our friends, our families, and for ourselves—because we all deserve to enjoy cannabis with confidence.
As legacy consumers and operators with deep knowledge of the plant, we have been helping West Coast operators for over a decade—and expanding our work across Canada and international markets since 2023. We have bought and sold over US$100 million worth of wholesale cannabis and graded over 500,000 pounds of cannabis material. This experience has given us a keen sense of the plant and how the industry operates at every level.
We’ve worked every side of the supply chain—from cultivation to consumer. We understand the pressures brands face, the hard work of retailers to earn trust , and the questions consumers ask. That’s why we’ve created tools that simplify verification, promote clean cannabis, and elevate transparency in every transaction.
We at Cannafax are just getting started with grading your favorite brands and bringing more transparency to the complex cannabis market.
Help us make Cannafax better for you.
